Presentation: One Object, Many Voices: Inclusive Interpretation of Mediterranean Heritage, Dr. Heba Hassan
The Mediterranean has long been a space of cultural interaction, exchange, and interconnected histories. Drawing on the collections of the Graeco-Roman Museum in Alexandria, this presentation explores how museum objects can be interpreted through multiple cultural and historical perspectives. It considers how comparing objects and narratives across Mediterranean contexts can help museums move beyond isolated national histories, encourage intercultural dialogue, and create more inclusive and engaging experiences for their audiences. The presentation will also discuss practical approaches to using collections as starting points for participation, reflection, and shared understanding.
