Cultural heritage today faces complex challenges — from conservation risks to limited youth engagement and policy gaps. Across the region and beyond, inspiring initiatives are addressing these challenges with innovative and impactful approaches.
Through this webinar series, we aim to highlight and exchange best practices that strengthen heritage protection, build capacity, and foster inclusive community engagement.
We invite you, heritage professionals, to present your work and contribute to peer learning across the sector.
We welcome presentations addressing one or more of the following areas:
- Conservation and documentation of heritage, including ecclesiastical and vernacular architecture, archaeology, and cultural artefacts.
- Raising awareness about cultural heritage protection, legal frameworks, funding, policy improvements, and public engagement.
- Supporting the capacity of new heritage NGOs through training, networking, innovation, and infrastructure.
- Training the next generation of conservation and heritage professionals.
- Engaging young people through interpretation, accessibility, and inclusion.
- Community-based heritage initiatives and participatory approaches.
We strongly encourage cross-cutting approaches that combine two or more topics.
We are particularly interested in initiatives that are practice focused and that:
- Demonstrate measurable or visible impact
- Offer transferable methodologies
- Show innovation in approach or partnerships
- Strengthen collaboration across sectors
- Contribute to long-term sustainability of heritage protection
Selected examples will be presented online as a 20–30 minute presentation, followed by discussion and Q&A. Dates will be agreed with the presenters. Language of the presentation and discussion is English.
