Take part in the survey, put your museum on the map

Within the regional project “Improving the accessibility of Balkan museums for people with disabilities”, which is implemented in partnership with museums from Kikinda, Knjazevac, Skopje and Visoko, a series of activities will be carried out aimed at supporting museums to increase their accessibility.

A special activity of this project is the creation of the first website in the region which will promote inclusive and accessible museums in the Balkans. The information collected on accessible practices of museums in the Balkans will also be published in the form of electronic publications and interactive map that will be available on the Balkan Museum Network website.

The goal of systematizing and presenting data on accessible and inclusive museum programs in the region is to enable people with disabilities, their families and companions, but also associations and schools to view relevant information in one place (online) through a web presentation and electronic publication. In this way, members of the Balkan Museum Network contribute to advancing the development of affordable cultural tourism in the region.

In order to make the data on the work of your museum in the field of accessibility and inclusion available and accessible to those who need it most – people with disabilities, a questionnaire has been created within this project, which we are sending you on this occasion.

It takes 10-15 minutes to fill out the questionnaire, and it can be accessed via the following link: https://forms.gle/KRqQpuf9K3VV9fFG6

In addition to filling out the questionnaire, we would ask you to include in your e-mail the following information about your museum:

  • Museum logo in JPEG and vector format
  • Between 3 and 5 photos that best show affordable and inclusive practices within your institution. Photos should be sent in JPEG format of high resolution – minimum 300 dpi (1200 * 800px)

The deadline for completing the questionnaire and sending data is June 10th, 2022.

All information about the work of your museum, that you share in the questionnaire and via email, will be used exclusively for the purpose of creating content for the website and electronic publication of accessible museums in the Balkans.

We hope that you will support this initiative and thus contribute to making information about the work of your museum accessible to a large number of museum visitors with disabilities in our region.

The activities of this project are realized in cooperation with the Balkan Museum Network, of which your museum is a member, while the project is funded by the Embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade through the Alumni Small Grants Program.
