The major part of the holdings consists of object representing the Croatian ethnographic heritage, but it also contains objects from many European countries and world cultures. The Museum also has a very large collection of non-European cultures. The objects mostly date back to the 19th and early 20th century. Our activities are focused on research and documentation of contemporary themes from the domain of ethnology and cultural anthropology. The results of our activities are presented to the public through exhibitions and publications, as well as various educational activities. Numerous projects have also been realized in cooperation with European museums.
