Open Call for Applications: The Headley SEE Cultural Heritage Fund

The Headley SEE Cultural Heritage Fund is thrilled to announce an open call for applications, aiming to foster and support projects focused on the preservation and celebration of cultural heritage across South-Eastern Europe. This initiative seeks to empower organizations that showcase innovative and impactful approaches towards sustainability, inclusivity, and regional cooperation in the cultural heritage sector.

Embracing a Multifaceted Approach to Cultural Heritage

The Headley SEE Cultural Heritage Fund is looking for projects that embody a deep commitment to conservation and showcase dynamic ways to engage communities. We prioritize efforts in the following areas:

  • Conservation and Documentation: Projects aimed at preserving ecclesiastical and vernacular architecture, significant archaeological sites, and safeguarding vulnerable cultural artefacts.
  • Awareness and Engagement: Initiatives that increase public awareness on the necessity of heritage protection, enhance legal frameworks, boost funding, and promote public engagement alongside policy advancements.
  • Capacity Building: Strengthening the infrastructure of emerging heritage NGOs through training, networking, and fostering innovation.
  • Professional Training: Developing the next generation of heritage professionals through practical courses, workshops, and regional study visits.
  • Youth Engagement: Projects that involve young people in heritage through innovative interpretation methods, enhanced accessibility, and inclusivity.
  • Community Initiatives: Engaging local communities in heritage-related activities that emphasize collaboration and shared heritage values.

We highly regard projects that integrate cross-sectoral themes such as gender equality, climate action, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and efforts to improve conditions for marginalized communities.

Project Impact and Scope

We are particularly interested in projects that:

  • Enhance the quality of life for local communities and demonstrate tangible empowerment.
  • Contribute to long-term structural improvements within the heritage sector.
  • Promote understanding and cooperation at a regional level.
  • Demonstrate a broad impact across the sector and effective partnerships for advocacy.
