AURORA presented at CERIS Workshop – Innovation against trafficking of cultural goods

On 5 December 2024, the AURORA project was presented at the CERIS Workshop on Innovation Against Trafficking of Cultural Goods, held at the BAO Center in Brussels, Belgium.
This thematic workshop, organized by the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), focused on presenting and discussing European research and innovative solutions to combat trafficking and the illicit trade of cultural goods across EU borders. It also addressed the identification of further capability needs in this field.

The event attracted a diverse audience, including security professionals, customs and law enforcement authorities, innovators, operators in cultural goods markets, and national and EU policymakers. Key topics covered included the detection of threats in the flow of goods and services, as well as risk assessment strategies.

AURORA was presented by Lujza Varga from the Hungarian National Museum and Jove Pargovski from the Balkan Museum Network.

The activities are the part of AURORA (Artwork Unique RecognitiOn and tRacking through chemicAl encoded data, miniaturized devices and blockchain alliance) project that is being funded by the European Union Horizon Europe program.
